We’re excited to introduce several massive upgrades that we are particularly proud of in this version. This is most likely the biggest list of simultaneous improvements ever.
Grunt AI is a research preview of our new platform to improve your presentations. This first version brings chart creation and modification to PowerPoint. Available through the Grunt-ribbon and directly from the Home tab (New! ), the Grunt AI button opens an interactive, chat-driven experience where you can create, edit, and refine charts using natural-language prompts.
Please note: This is a phased roll-out, and Grunt AI will first become available to customers and users who have opted in to our AI features. If you don’t have access or can’t see the buttons yet, they should become available soon. If you need access sooner, please reach out to us. The initial version will be free to test with a personal usage quota in this initial phase. AI features will later require a separate AI subscription that is billed based on your actual usage.
Significant performance improvements and reduced startup time! This is important to keep you productive, and you will see that Grunt is noticeably snappier and provides a more responsive experience.
As a first step in a long-term push toward simplifying using Grunt, we are introducing Point and click editing for Icons and Harvey balls in the Visual Grid. You can now insert and modify icons and Harvey-balls directly from the floater menu in Visual Grid, without the need to use rules. Expect further iterations and broader graphics support in this push in upcoming releases.
Sharepoint Excel connection support eliminates the need to sync files locally! The feature greatly enhances the ability to update Excel connected data without need for keeping the files on your computer.
The Send feature is back, enabling ability to send presentations or slides directly from the Grunt ribbon once again.
Series CAGR in labels for supported chart types is now available from the label floater, enabling users to visualize CAGRs directly in the series label. You enable them by clicking on series labels in the chart or in a legend, and changing the calculation options in the floater menu.
Close to 700 new Icons are now added to the icon gallery, to make it easier than ever to find an icon that matches the way you want to express your data.
Callout annotations for charts gives the users possibility to visually highlight and point out relevant information on their object using arrows, callouts, textboxes, rectangles or even automatically numbered Harvey-balls. You find them on the main chart floater menu.
With Fixed Chart Area users can now choose whether all elements on the Grunt chart reside within the object or flow outside. This is ideal when you need to control how your chart resizes in order to align with other shapes on the slide. This customer-requested feature is available from the chart floater menu.
Introducing interactive clipping lines, giving users feedback when visuals are clipped. You can now simply click on the clipping lines and customize styling, or simply deleting them if you prefer to not draw attention the the clipped axes.
